Rustic Live Edge Wood Stool
These rustic live-edge stools make for convenient garden seating, a
charming end table, or just somewhere to display your house plant.
Made from a wooden slab, each stool has live edges running down
opposite sides, which preserve the curve of the tree from which it
was cut. The surface of the stool can be engraved with a name or
phrase to give it a more personal touch.
These stools are handcrafted by Damien Devereux who is registered blind, with over 5 years experience as a carpenter. All wood is kiln-dried and sourced from a local sustainable woodland. Kiln dry wood is much more stable and unlikely to warp as it ages.
Stools come in three different sizes that determines both their
height and width. The depth will be approximately the same as the
width, but will vary due to the live edge. Unequal sizes can be done
as a custom order; please get in touch. To ensure their durability
for outdoor use, the stools can be treated with Exterior Oil to
bring out the grain and protect the wood, though it will need
re-coating once a year. An optional hardier coating of varnish is
also available for added protection and a smoother finish which will
not need re-coating unless damaged.
The bark is not always present because it sometimes comes loose during the drying and construction. The poles used to make the legs may contain splits caused by the drying process. If you would like the stool engraved then please specify the name/message when you order.
Due to items being made to order please allow up to two weeks for dispatch.
